Assumption is a belief that is taken for granted, or taken to be true without sufficient exploration, evidence, or explanation. Now for Ross and Rachel, it led to Ross turning up to an airport at the least 32 miles away from his intended destination, for me it’s led to turning up at the wrong Heathrow terminal for my flight (don’t ask – sore subject), but in safety, and safety management, assumptions can be really problematic.  

A lot of people through time have said that I am the definition of ‘squiggly career’, and maybe from the outside looking in, on this (nearly) 30-year-old millennial, that’s what it looks like. Perception to an individual, is their reality. We can see examples of things in our every day lives that quite clearly have not been designed with making it easy to do the right thing in mind, and generally these are the day to day things that really annoy us. On the contrary there are also some fantastic things around us that have been designed with this concept in mind and we generally all marvel at the success.
